I just received a message from Wess Stafford that says, “Oh my goodness . . . my very last day as Compassion’s President!”
Which prompts me to pray . . .
Our most compassionate Heavenly Father, thank you for revealing your heart through your servant, Wess Stafford.
Thank you for the difference you have used him to make in the lives of millions of children around the world.
Thank you for the awareness of children at risk that you have used him to bring in the lives of thousands of churches throughout the United States and globally.
Thank you for his openness to planting new churches where no churches previously existed.
Thank you for the transformation of entire countries as a result of his tireless effort.
Thank you for his ability to look into the eyes of one child, one young leader, one future “world-changer” and make them feel like they are the only person on the planet.
Thank you for his willingness to get down on his hands and knees and play with my five-year-old daughter.
Thank you for his truthfulness in confronting me with God’s message of love and hope for ALL children.
Thank you for his fortitude in finishing well as a husband, father and leader of a worldwide ministry.
And thank you most of all that, as a result of his faithfulness, the best is yet to come.
